Contract Engineer - Gateshead, North East (with occasional visits to the USA) - 6 - 9 Months - 35 - 45 per hour
Start Date: 1st June or ASAP
Our client is at the forefront of electric vehicle control technology and is developing a range of new controllers and accessories for AC and DC motors, to accelerate these developments they need to increase the size and strength of the Research & Development team based in the North East England.
The following are a pre-requisite for this position:
Design and development of a 240V 800A inverter
Experienced Power Electronic Engineer
Must have worked on IGBT inverters in power range 1kW to 1MW
Gate drives
Current measurement
IGBT protection
Gate drive power supplies
DC link capacitor selection
Cooling * thermal design

Engineers will be involved with product development from initial concepts through to volume production. They must have the ability to analyse problems from first principles and come up with innovative and cost effective solutions.
